How to make your own natural sunscreen

The sun's rays can be damaging to our skin, but many store-bought sunscreens contain harmful chemicals that can be harmful to our bodies and the environment. Making your own natural sunscreen is a safe, easy, and cost-effective solution that can provide protection from the sun without any negative side effects. Here's how to make your own natural sunscreen:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of coconut oil

  • 1/4 cup of shea butter

  • 1/4 cup of beeswax

  • 2 tablespoons of zinc oxide

  • Optional: Essential oils for fragrance

Instructions:

  1. In a double boiler, melt the coconut oil, shea butter, and beeswax together.

  2. Once melted, remove from heat and whisk in the zinc oxide.

  3. Add in any optional essential oils for fragrance and mix well.

  4. Pour the mixture into a glass jar or container and let it cool completely.

  5. Use as you would any other sunscreen, applying generously to all exposed skin.
